Dietary notes: vegan, dairy free, gluten free
Notes: Fresh or frozen can be used for the berries, banana, spinach and nuts. Frozen banana gives a creamier consistency. When buying nuts in bulk you can keep them in the freezer so they stay fresh. Freeze your fresh spinach if it is getting close to its “use by” date and use in smoothies. Substitute coconut water for water if you prefer.

This omega-3 smoothie gives you your daily hit of plant omega-3. Chia seeds, walnuts and flaxseed are all great sources of alpha-linolenic acid (one of the main omega-3 fatty acids). Green leafy veggies also contain a little alpha-linolenic acid - hence they spinach!
